I have lived in Japan and worked in the UK where I spent my youth as well as Chicago and LA in the US. In between times I have visited another 20 roughly countries for entertainment or work. Every trip I learned something however it was only when I was coping with another country did I really learn to understand the culture. Celebrating Christmas in Japan with only chopsticks to address the turkey and brussel sprouts was obviously a time to always remember.
But how could you work abroad?
Be Flexible. If your organizational is global you may then have the opportunity to go to another location, embark on an exchange program or transfer if you're willing to be flexible. Be Talented. If you might be unique or special then you might find yourself packing. A friend of mine a lawful expert has taught in China, Vietnam and Thailand. Another friend was delivered to Russia.
Be Brave. If you would like to go - simply do it. Go as being a tourist and look for a teaching job or real love and stay. Or search for job advertisements or friends with contacts abroad. And finally, basic information about cultural considerations. Not great - no striped ties in England seems a here bit odd especially as I have about 30 of these. But mostly it's useful and interesting stuff e.g. Brits like gambling and 70% of those buy lottery tickets.
